What's inside a hide kit?
Each shop-and-go HIDE kit contains all the components for a no-fuss install by a professional contractor.
The homeowner only needs to make one decision - what inlay material should I use?!
Installation Instructions
Each HIDE kit contains comprehensive installation instructions with diagrams and a list of standard contractor tools required to complete the install. The process is quick and easy for a professional contractor.
Please ensure you have engaged a licensed, suitably experienced contractor to install the HIDE product. Prior to commencing the install, please ask your contractor to read the Installation manual thoroughly, and follow the instructions closely when fitting.
Please note, a contractor’s failure to comply with the correct installation instructions will void your 10 year warranty. The Installation Instructions can also be downloaded below. Please be sure to select the same HIDE product as the one you have purchased.

Inlay Lid
Constructed from marine grade, 316 stainless steel. Fully welded corners to maintain lid rigidity and resist twisting. All internal corners have a minimum radius to allow for close tolerance fitting of inlay materials.
The Inlay Lid is fitted with the inlay materials chosen for the landscaping project eg tile, paver, decking, concrete etc. It provides a seamless, flush finish in your landscaped area. It also protects the inlay materials from chipping or breakages when the lid is opened or closed
EDGE PROTECTOR
Constructed from marine grade, 316 stainless steel. Fully welded corners to ensure strength and a seamless appearance. The key way design is cleverly hidden at the edge of the lid to reduce the visual impact of the keyhole.
A frame which sits on the outside of the Inlay Lid. The Edge Protector is designed to protect the coping/surrounds immediately adjacent to the lid. It ensures the surrounds are not chipped or broken when the lid is opened or closed. It also provides for adequate drainage, preventing staining and leaching from water damage.
HIDE SAFETY KEY
Ergonomically designed, precision made key constructed from high-strength stainless steel.
A tool to enable the installed HIDE lid to be safely and easily removed from its recess, providing access to the contents within.
DO NOT LEAVE THE SAFTEY KEY IN THE HIDE LID! ALWAYS store the HIDE Safety Key out of reach of children, in a secure, childproof location. Return to safe storage immediately after use.
ADHESIVE
To be inserted into a caulking gun.
A specially formulated adhesive for use when assembling the inlay lid. It can be used to glue the inlay tray (and height adjuster, if required) to the inlay materials.
Height Adjuster
An acrylic sheet which provides 2mm of extra height. It is only required if the chosen inlay material is too thin to provide a flush finish when fitted inside the inlay lid.
Depending on the HIDE product chosen, your kit may contain one or multiple Height Adjusters.
Note: the HIDE concrete does not contain a Height Adjuster.
INFO PACK
A information pack enclosed in a plastic sleeve.
This pack contains the Home Owners Manual and Warranty. It should be passed to the home owner after the HIDE is installed.
WHAT SIZE + STYLE DO I NEED?
The HIDE product range is available for Skimmer Covers, Access Covers and Drain Covers. The first step is to determine which style of HIDE product you need.
The size of your HIDE product refers to both the outer measurements of the lid, and the thickness (depth) allowed for your inlay materials. Your helpful HIDE sales professional, or your contractor, can assist with providing correct information on the size you will require. All of the outer and internal measurements for each product are provided on our product pages.
NEW INSTALLATION + RETROFITIING
The HIDE kits are suitable for new landscape projects, and in most instances can also be retrofitted in existing landscaped areas. Many customers choose to upgrade their existing landscape lids to HIDE, because of the luxury, safe and durable finish that HIDE provides.
The comprehensive installation instructions will guide the contractor through the process to achieve a seamless finish in either a new build or replacement.
I WANT A HIDE IN A DIFFERENT SIZE!
Usually your contractor can cut a new recess in your landscape area to retrofit a HIDE in one of our standard sizes. However, if our available size options do not match the recess area for your lid – don’t stress!
HIDE can manufacture custom-sized lids for skimmers, drain and access points. We will happily guide you through the custom manufacturing process.
…AND BEHOLD THE AMAZING EFFECTS!
HIDE lids can be fitted with most types of landscaping materials, including concrete, timber decking, stone pavers and tiles as thin as 10mm. Depending on where the HIDE product is to be installed, it may run across two different types of landscaping materials. Similarly, it may need to be inserted where grout lines are present, or fitted with an intricate tile pattern.
That’s totally fine! With a little extra care, the HIDE product can be installed with a minimum of fuss so it’s virtually invisible.
BACKED BY A 10 YEAR WARRANTY!
You know you are purchasing a quality product when you receive a 10 year warranty.
And that’s exactly what you receive with a HIDE kit. We offer such a long-standing warranty because we’ve designed our lids to be set-and-forget. Hide lids are 100% safe, constructed of high-grade materials with a beautiful finish, and maintenance is required only occasionally. HIDE warranty covers the Safety Key, the Inlay Lid and the Edge Protector.
Meanwhile, other traditional landscape lid options can have durability issues which require regular, and often costly, lid replacement. Due to these durability issues, the homeowner usually receives little to no warranty coverage.
So, which option would you rather?
